Small monastery in Tuscany , realization of Otar Iosseliani, is a film produced for the S.E.P.T (Company of edition of television programs which was a French public limit company of edition of television programs created on February 23rd, 1986 to develop a television program cultural and educational) and FR3.

Synopsis

Otar Iosseliani recalls the life of the monks with Castelnuovo dell' abate, beside Montalcino not far from His: The Father Andre Forest, Father Etienne Roze, Father Olivier Nelle, Brother Emmanuel Roze, Brother Jean-Charles Leroy. The film starts with this sentence: If we want to know of which value are the goods of the Earth, let us consider to them bed of the dead one: these honors, these entertainments, these richnesses we will be removed one day. It is consequently necessary to work to sanctify us and to enrich us by the only bonds which follow us in eternity. (Holy Alphonse de Liguori). And then another text appears Ici finishes the first part of this film, the continuation will be turned in scores of years in this same place and with the same characters . A strange film since it is rather about documentary on the work of the peasants rather than on the life of the monastery.
