Small Meurthe

The Petite Meurthe is a French Rivière which runs in the department of the the Vosges. It is an affluent of the Meurthe out of left bank.

Geography

Small Meurthe is born in the oriental party of the department of the the Vosges on the western slope of the Col of Schlucht, on the territory of the commune of Clefcy, located in wood and forests which cover a good part of the area in the east of Gérardmer. Its course is directed from the beginning towards north, head office which the river will maintain throughout its course. This last proceeds entirely on the territory of the locality of Clefcy. It joins a little Meurthe downstream from Fraize.

Hydrology

Small Meurthe, is a small, but very abundant river in spite of the smallness of its basin. The average interannual flow or module of the river to the confluence of Meurthe is worth 1,15 m ³ a second for a catchment area of 39 km ². The Lame of water past in the basin is of 930 millimetres, which is very high, nearly three times superior with that of the average of France, all confused basins, but also compared with the whole of the basin of the Moselle in France. Indeed, the water blade of the latter with Hauconcourt, close to its exit of the French territory rises with 445 millimetres. The specific Débit or Qsp of Small Meurthe is assembled consequently at 29,49 liters a second and per square kilometer.
