Small Liakhov
The Small island Liakhov (Russian МалыйЛяховский/ Maly Lyakhovsky ) belonged to the Archipelago of New Siberian Islandss located in the Arctic Ocean, in the north of the coasts of the Eastern Siberia between the Sea of Laptev and the Sea of Eastern Siberia. On the administrative level it is attached to the République of Sakha (Yakoutie) in Russia.
The island is most Scandinavian of the islands Liakhov. It is separated from the islands Anjou (principal islands of the archipelago of New Siberian Islandss) by the Détroit of Sannikov.
It holds its name of the Russian merchant Ivan Liakhov which explored the archipelago in the search of bone and defenses of Mammouth between 1770 and 1775.
