Smaïn Reflected

Smaïn Mira (born in 1953) is a Algerian Politician , mayor of the commune of Tazmalt in Kabylie area. Because of its statute of chief of the APC (mayor) and chief of the patriotic militia of his area in 1994, he is regarded as powerful man of great influence on Kabylie.

He is a character disputed and discussed because of his implication in various criminal cases, of which most known are:

June 28th 1998: suspected by the participants of a demonstration (in homage to Lounés Matoub), to have shot at crowd ();
July 13rd 2007: an investigation is open concerning a homicide which it would have made against a passer by ().

These implications in criminal facts, were worth to him the title of war leader by the media and the population. However, he is also seen like a character having ardently fought against terrorism, bringing peace and calm in this area of Algeria, at the time of the bloody years. He for example deployed a network of standard lamps in the village of Tazmalt, which was worth to him much respect on behalf of the population
