Småland

The province of Småland in the south of the Sweden contains 5.000 lakes around which one finds at the same time forests intact, churches out of wooden, dashes and crystal manufactures. The prettiest period of the year is the middle of the summer, when the sun never lies down. Besides the Swedes celebrate this period at the time of the Festival of semi-be.

The town of Växjö is located about at the center of the province of Småland and is particularly well served by the road infrastructures between Copenhagen, Malmö and Stockholm.

The voyage to reach it is already an adventure. The bus crosses the bridge on the Øresund, length 16 km and prolonged by a long tunnel of 4km which connects the Denmark and the Sweden. Possibility of also coming in ferry since the Germany, that it is in fast way of day or way of night. It is of course possible the most comfortable solution probably of the plane until Copenhagen.

It is in this province that was born IKEA. Its name evokes a certain number of values still present today in the culture of the firm: " One can leave IKEA de Småland, but not leave Småland d' IKEA" .

Its name literally means, in Swedish, the " small pays".
