Slovak philharmonic orchestra

The Slovak Philharmonic orchestra (in Slovak: Slovenská filharmónia ) is most important Symphony orchestra of Slovakia.

History

Founded in 1949, the orchestra is in residence since the years 1950 in Reduta, building baroque going back to 1773 located in the capital of the country, Bratislava. In addition to its annual season of concerts, the orchestra occurs at the time of festivals or European and more remote rounds (Turkey, Japan, the United States).

It recorded a considerable quantity of discs, for the label Naxos in particular.
