History
It is in Slough that the astronomer William Herschel built the telescope which enabled him to trace the first true chart of the Universe, in its garden with Windsor Road, with the assistance of his/her Caroline sister. A monument commemorates this prowess there. Herschel is buried with the church St Laurence, in Upton, Slough.
