Slot
Slot (in Dutch: het Slot ), located at Brussels, in the valley of the Woluwe, commune of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, is the vestige of an old castle, remains lords of Woluwe. It belonged to the same seigneurial field as the Chapelle of Marie-the-Poor wretch and the Moulin of preserved Lindekemale all two.
Excavations carried out in 1984, before the restoration of the building made it possible to reveal various phases of construction of which oldest goes back to the 14th century, the current building dates from the 16th century. It was then surrounded by ditches and a flanked curtain of two turns strengthened the site.
In 1665 it is mentioned in the inventory of the possession of the abbey of Park, it enters then in possession of the Counts de Hinnisdael.
At the beginning of the 19th century it is transformed into farm to be finally abandoned in 1959, repurchased by the commune in 1975, classified and restored in 1986 it is used today as restaurant, along the walk arranged on the edges of Woluwe.
