Slioudianka

Slioudianka (in Russian: Слюдя́нка) is a city of the Oblast d' Irkoutsk, in Russia. It is located on the Lac Baïkal, to 127 km in the south of Irkoutsk. Slioudianka is the administrative center of the district of Slioudianski.Sa population rose with: 19872 inhabitants with the census of 1989 and: 19118 inhabitants in 2002.

The name of the city, Russian word for Mica, points out the abundance of the mineral layers of the area. The station of railroad of Slioudianka and a hamlet was established in 1905. The locality has the statute of city since 1936.

Slioudanka is on the Transsibérien, with kilometer 5311 since Moscow.

Slioudianka is a center of manufacture of cement and construction materials. It also has a treatment plant of fish and linked activities with the rail-bound transport.
