Slide

With the Theater, the slides (more rarely the slide ) are at the origin of the slides which allowed the displacement of the ornamental panels, generally distributed per pairs, on each side of the Scène, and which had for double function to dissimulate the side releases and to accentuate the effect of prospect.

Currently, by extension of direction, the slides indicate usually the part of the scene which is not visible by the spectators.
