Sleepless night

With Paris, the Sleepless night is an annual manifestion. It makes it possible to the public to visit various places and to attend various cultural events during the night of first Saturday at first Sunday of October. Initiated by the Socialist mayor Bertrand Delanoë, the first edition was held in 2002; the operation for summer has reproduced in many cities in France and the rest of the world: Rome, Montreal, Madrid, Toronto, New York, Helsinki, Tokyo, Naples, Brussels, Istanbul, Riga, Miami, Shanghai.

2002

It is at the time of this first edition that Bertrand Delanoë was attacked and wounded with the knife by one unbalanced.

2003

2004

The 3rd sleepless night of Paris was held Saturday, October 2, 2004 with 18:00 at the Sunday the 3rd with 8:00.

Many animations were new just like a rando-roller special sleepless night which left the place of the town hall to 19:30.

Transport

The line 14 was the only one to function all during the night; however the other underground lines close with 1:00 and reopen with 5:30 of the morning. 4 lines of bus also served most of the town of Paris all the night. The boat-slow train (“Boats Flies” is a registered trademark) functioned them of 20:00 to 2:30 of the morning. All the noctambus also functioned.

The Sleepless night 2004 was also known for its problems of organization on the level of transport. Indeed plans of Paris different from/to each other were distributed.

2005

The edition of 2005, in the night of 1st at October 2nd in particular gave the opportunity to the public to discover the Large palace entirely renovated, clarified by Thierry Dreyfus and in its by Frederic Sanchez.

2006

2007

The edition 2007 took place in the night from October 6th to 7th.

It is at the time of this cultural event that a group of individuals made up of 4 passably éméchés men and a woman succeeded in forcing a door of the Musée of Orsay and to be introduced there. After having smoked and urinatehaving urinated in the enclosure of the museum, one of the shadies probably gave a punch in the Bridge of Argenteuil of Claude Monet (1874). A notch of approximately 10 centimetres in the center of work makes necessary an eminent restoration and starts again the debate on the protection of the Musées and works of Article

Sleepless night 2007: scene open in the black for musicians improvisers in XVe ('' except course '')

The budget of the éditin 2007 was approximately 1,65 million euros, including 1,15 for the Ville of Paris and 500.000 taken charges some by private partners.
