Slavic mythology

The Slavic Mythologie evolved/moved during more than 3000 years.

One finds there in particular the Domovoï, spirit protecting the house. Before their conversion with Christianity, the Russians adored Svarog, the god of the sky, father of Dajbog, the god of the sun, and Ogon, the god of fire; Peroun was for them the god of the thunder; Volos or Veles protected their herds and their harvests: Stribog passed on their premises to be the grandfather of the winds; Iarilo and Lada governed the love and the generation. Belobog sent by Svarog, created the men, installed are throne with the North pole and returned chaques ends of the year to visit them. The principal god of Slavic of the Baltic was Sviatovit or Svantovit, in the honor of which one celebrated each year a great festival at the end of the harvest; it was believed that fruitfulness or the food shortage depended on him; one offered to him part of the spoils conquered on the enemies. The other gods of this group were: Triglav, represented with three heads, which perhaps meant that it reigned at the same time on the sky, the ground and the hells; Radigost, Rugevit and Ranovit, Iarovit, all divinities of the war.
