Slate Islands (Scotland)

The Slate Islands ( Islands of slate ) are a group of islands belonging to the archipelago of the interior Hébrides, to the north of the island of the Jura and to the south-west of Oban. The principal islands are Seil, Easdale, Luing, Shuna, Torsay and Belnahua. Scarba, which does not extend far however does not form usually part of it.

The geological composition of these islands is the slate, which was extracted from it until the medium from the 20th century.
