Slættaratindur
Slættaratindur is more the high mountain of the Faroe Islands with an altitude of 882 meters. It is located in the northern part of the island of Eysturoy between the villages of Eiði, Gjógv, and Funningur.
Slættaratindur means " top plat". Its rise can be carried out in 4 hours and does not present difficulties. Per good weather, one can see since the top all the archipelago of the Faroe one. Slættaratindur is one of the 10 mountains of the Faroe Islands which exceeds 800 meters. The second plus high mountain: Gráfelli, is located just at the North-East of Slættaratindur.
