Sky Sports is a group of 6 chains - Sky Sports 1 , Sky Sports 2 , Sky Sports 3 , Sky Sports Xtra , Sky Sports News and Sky Sports HD - directed by British Sky Broadcasting - and diffused on the bouquet Sky TV. Sky Sports is the first sporting network with the the United Kingdom. It is especially known for the important share granted to football.

The first chain, Sky Sports (now Sky Sports 1 ) was launched in March 1990 under the name The Sport Chanel .
