Ski jump with the Olympic Games of 1928
The saltire was designed for jumps of approximately 70 meters, but only one jumper exceeded this mark with a jump of 73 meters: the Thams Norwegian who fell with the reception of his jump. The Olympic champion was satisfied with a jump to 64 meters. Only three jumpers exceeded the mark of the 60 meters. A strong wind in gusts explains these weaknesses.
