SketchUp is a Logiciel of modeling 3D directed Architecture, published by the company @Last Software. It is characterized by simple tools (Rotation, Extrusion, displacement, etc), but is in fact a software 3D very different from the traditional modellers 3D.
The Rendu of SketchUp is able to imitate as well a sketch by a show of hands (from where the name of sketch which means English sketch) to carry out a precise technical design with shadows and textures.
SketchUp is also extensible by the scripts written in language Ruby. Scripts extending the capacities of modeling and conversion are available on Internet, including one exporting the models towards the program of returned Pov-Ray.
January 9th, 2007, version 6 of SketchUp is made available. It brings new tools, a beta release of the new complementary software Google SketchUp LayOut and the universal binary code for Mac-Intel. Layout comprises tools of vectors 2D and page layout making the creation of presentations easier for the professionals and this without need for transfer to a software of third presentation.
The formats of importation suggested in the two versions are 3DS, DEM or Autocad (DWG, DXF). The paying version laying out of more than capacity of importation.
