The Sixth Government of New Caledonia elected since the Agreements of Noumea, also said First government Martin , was elected the August 6th 2007 by the Congrès resulting from the elections of the May 9th 2004. There were only two lists candidates: a list linking the anti-freedom fighters resulting from the two formations up to now opposite but which approached since the national elections 2007, the Avenir together and the Gathering-UMP, which joined together 35 votes (either a voice of less than what one could suppose being the distribution of the political families to the Congrès, Christiane Gambey, only elected independence of the Avenir together, having decided to vote white) and 8 members out of 11 with the government (4 Avenir together and 4 RPCR), and an independence single list which added up 17 votes (there too with a voice of less than envisaged, one of the independence votes, found stuck with a blank vote, having been entered like null), is 3 members elected with the government (two PLAIN - FLNKS and three Union calédonienne, as at the time of the two preceding governments). The new independence elected officials as theirs following of list immediately resigned, involving consequently the remainder of the government, FLNKS considering that the entered bulletin as no one was the fruit of a “material error” (the more so as this spoilt ballot paper made lose a seat within the government with the freedom fighters which could hope to obtain 4 members being given the blank vote of Christiane Gambey). It was about for the same reasons that the first government Thémereau had fallen in 2004 the very same day of its formation. The sectors of competence thus could not be allotted. Initially envisaged to have 11 members, the government was immediately only reduced to the 8 elected officials anti-freedom fighters who proceeded to the election of their president, Harold Martin of the Avenir together like agreed in the political agreement signed between this party and the Gathering-UMP, and of their vice-president, Annie Beustes of RPCR, the August 7th 2007. It was thus satisfied to manage the go concern until the election of the new executive, the August 21st. This one did not see its composition completely not changed compared to this government, although the freedom fighters gained a member moreover considering whom they made this time the full one with their 17 votes and since Christiane Gambey maintained her blank vote, and the anti-freedom fighters thus lost a station (Isabelle Champmoreau, Gathering-UMP, leaves the government then).
