Six Flags New England
Six Flags Great Adventure is a Parc with topics of the company Six Flags, located at Agawam in the Massachusetts close to Springfield. It consists of an amusement park, and a watery Parc (Six Flags Hurricane Harbor).
History
In 1840 opened Gallops Grove , a small park of edge of river with surfaces of spade screws. It will become Riverside Grove until in 1912 where Henry J. Perkings will give him his vocation of Parc to topics and where it will take the name Riverside Amusement Park . In 1910, the park accommodates its first Russian Montagnes, a Russian Montagnes of wood named Giant Dip . In 1938 it is Edward Carroll which will take the head of the park.For its 100 years, the park builds a second Russian Montagnes of wood, built by Joseph Drambour named Thunderbolt (this attraction is always in function). The the Seventies will be important on the level of arrvée of attractions since it is at that time that are built inter alia WildCat , Loop Coaster , Colossus (Grande wheel), Red River Rapids …
In 1996, the Carrol family which had the park since many years decides to sell it with the group First Parks. During four years, the park thus becomes Riverside: The Great Escape . Into 2000, the group changes name to become current the Six Flags, the park is then last once renamed to become Six Flags New England . The hand street of the park is famous " Carrol Drive ", in homage to the former owners.
During several years, until 1999, the park accommodated the automobile race organized by NASCAR called Riverside Park Speedway .
