Six Flags Great Adventure

Six Flags Great Adventure is a Parc with topic of the company Six Flags, located at Jackson in the New Jersey, with 100km of New York, 93km of Newark and 80km of Philadelphia, consisted of an amusement park, a wild Safari, and a watery Parc (Six Flags Hurricane Harbor).

History

The restorer Warner Leroy had projected in 1972 to create a complex of leisure while benefitting from the spirit “Return to the nature” of the moment. With the program, an amusement park, a safari, a park of exposure, a floral garden, a sports complex, a campsite and a retail park connected ones and them to the hotels by the means of a boat, a train, a monorail…

Industries of Hardwicke built several parks of safari in Canada and Europe and they collaborated with Leroy for its project in Jackson. They started to open the various zones by stages over one five years period. However, of the elements of four of the parks envisaged were combined to create the amusement park The Enchanted forest . The park and the safari are open on July 1st 1974 and a great festival of opening was organized the day of independence (the July 4th).

The Enchanted forest (the magic forest) was conceived like a place seen through the eyes of the children.

In 1976 the park is famous and becomes Great Adventure .

The following year the park is repurchased by the group Six Flags and thus takes its current name.
