Besieged Turkish is ordered by Djezzar Pasha and is supported by a British fleet ordered by the Admiral Smith. The French have neither artillery nor provisions; after eight attacks, they must give up. Moreover, Phélippeaux, which followed the same military courses that Napoleon, advised defense.
