Sit of Hiuchi
Hiuchiyama (火打ち山) was one of the fortresses of Minamoto No Yoshinaka in the Province of Echizen. In April and May 1183, Taira No Koremori attacks the fortress, which, although being built with simple palisades, is built on escarpés rocks and defended well. Moreover, Minamoto had even built a stopping to create a ditch. However, a traitor sent, by rolling up it around an arrow drawn in the camp from Taira, a message revealing a means of breaking the stopping and of draining water of it. The castle falls soon to the hands from Taira, but Yoshinaka manages to escape with the major part of the troops.
