Sit of Granville
The Siège of Granville was held the November 14th 1793 and saw the victory of the 5.000 republicans besieged vis-a-vis the Vendean ones at the time of the Virée of Galerne. The rumor would run in the rows of the Vendean army, that if they managed to take a port, the English would come to their helps. The first choice was made initially on the wearing of Saint-Malo but finally it was Granville, which was selected appearing less well defended. November 14th, the Vendean ones are thus in front of the city but they do not have any material of seat and the English do not show themselves, however the Vendean ones launch the attack and seize the suburbs. But their advance is braked because fire is declared and the suburbs are burnt. The White pass then by the grêve and are on the point of climbing the rocks, located at the feet of the ramparts, when in their rows the cries of " are répendent; treason! " undoubtedly shouted by republican spies. Quickly panic gains the Vendean ones and much flee: the attack fails. Rochejacquelein, not having any news of the English, who however, with Jersey, were very close, decides to raise the seat.

Consequences
This victory was decisive for the republicans, who had avoided a possible junction of the Vendée and Chouannerie with England. The Vendean ones discouraged made half-turn to try to again cross the Loire, they will have to still deliver many combat.
