Sisymbre lying
The sisymbre lying , or striped lying , is an annual plant of the family of Crucifères (Brassicacées), originating in Western Europe.
According to recent classifications, the correct name of this species is: Erucastrum supinum (L.) Warwick & Al-Shehbaz (2003)
Description
The sisymbre lying is an annual plant with stems spread out approximately a 60 cm length.The flowers are white and small (3 to 5 mm) and remain only from May to August.
The fruits are Silique S more or less arched, applied against the stem and being able to reach 3 cm length. The seed is small (approximately 1 mm).
Distribution and habitat
The sisymbre lying meets in Western Europe since Sweden and the Baltic States until the north of France, but became rare apart from banks of the Baltic. The species is supposed disappeared with the Benelux countries and in Germany.
