Sirius is the principal star of the Constellation of the Large Dog. Seen Ground, Sirius is the most brilliant star of the sky after the Sun. Its Magnitude connects is of -1,46. It is with 8,6 light-years Sun, which does one of the closest stars of them.

Sirius is a binary star. Sirius has is a star of the principal Séquence, of spectral Type A0 or A1, which has 2,1 times the solar Masse. Its estimated age is between 200 and 250 million years. Its Temperature of surface east of approximately 9900 K and its Diameter approximately 1,711 times the solar diameter. Its chemical composition is similar to that of the Sun.

His/her companion, Sirius B, are a white Naine ( in lower part, on the left of Sirius has on the image opposite), which orbits with one period of almost 50 years. It was first the dwarf white one with being discovered, in 1862 by Alvan Clark.
