Siracide

The booklet of the Ecclesiastical , also called the Siracide or the Wisdom of Ben Sirakh is one of the sapientiaux books of the Old Testament written towards 200 before J. - C. Siracide holds its name of its author the Rabbin Jesus Ben Sirakh (Ben Sira; Ben Sirach)

The Jewish S and the Protesting S regard this book as apocryphal book. Only the Jews alexandrines and the Catholique S regarded it as a holy book. The Ecclésiaste was preserved and the rejected Ecclesiastic, one can see there two opposite visions of wisdom, worked out at one time when great controversies were going to lead to the formation of the Jewish “sects”.

The work is a mixture of two literary kinds: sometimes “proverbs”, sometimes of the structured developments propose reflections on a subject. It is always about the “Wisdom”, represented like a personification of divine Wisdom. It is for the disciple a mother, a wife, a sister. To seek, it is to reach God. To live with it, it is to live with God.

End of the work exalte of the historical characters, as will do it the Livres of the Stiffs, which prevented its inscription in the Jewish gun of the books inspired. But the rabbis of the Talmud hold it in high regard.
