Singkep

Singkep is southernmost of the islands of the Archipel of Riau. It belongs to the archipelago of the Lingga. The principal city is Dabo.

Economy and tourism

The island is marked by large mines of tin to open sky. Until in the years 1980, tin was the richness of Singkep. Then the courses fell. Dabo then became a deadened small town.

Singkep has beautiful beaches. With 4 kilometers in the south of Dabo is the sand beach white of Batu Berdaun. In the interior the water fall of Batu Ampar is.

One joined Singkep by a small boat called tomtong which connects Daik, the principal city of the island of Lingga in Jago on the northern coast of Singkep.
