Singers without borders

Chanteurs without borders is a French association created in 1985 according to the Anglo-Saxon model Band Aid with the same goal: to come to assistance of the victims of the famine which prevailed then in Ethiopia. The association chaired by Antoine di Zazzo managing director of Pathé Marconi EMI was directed by Dominique Quiliquini (wife of Renaud), Francis Cabrel (treasurer) Franck Langolff (type-setter of the music) and of Rony Brauman president of Doctors without borders.
Le total of the gifts had reached 23.000.000 of Francs distributed to Doctors without borders (to 90%), AICF, Médecins of the world, and the Resto du coeur.

The concert

The Chanteurs without borders gave a concert to Courneuve Sunday October 13rd 1985. They were, for the circumstance, more than 80 artists brought together on this memorable scene. The only concert to date where no artistic discrimination was noted, including African artists, and a sample of all the French artists without discrimination of origin, age and genre.
The collected funds were transferred with various associations working for Ethiopia and a first participation in the Resto du coeur of Coluche which enabled him to continue its work whereas it was in the doubt.
