Sindia (Senegal)

Sindia (or Sinndi a) is a locality of the Senegal, located near the Small-Coast, in the south of Dakar.

History

Administration

Sindia is the chief town of the rural Communauté of Sindia, attached to the Département of Me bour, in the Région of Thiès.

Geography

The closest localities are Of angd' ang, B' oundoun, B' oub' ab, Bandia Sessene, Ndiorokh Ndoutane, Konkoma, Sindia Kafngoun and Sindia Lorom.

Geological physics

Sindia is a city-crossroads located at the intersection of N1 which connects Dakar to Me bour with the road which goes from Thiès to Popenguine.

Population

According to the PEPAM (Programme of drinking water and cleansing of the Millenium), Sindia counts 2.326 inhabitants and 265 households.

As for the rural Community of Sindia, it adds up 39.542 people and 4.511 households.

Economy

Sindia is near the seaside resorts of the Small-Coast and the Réserve of Bandia.

Twinnings and partnerships

There exists a partnership between CR of Sindia and the town of Namur in Belgium.
