The Sind or Sindh is one of the four provinces of the Pakistan. It is surrounded of the Balouchistan in the west and north, Panjâb in north and skirts the the Indian Rajasthan to the east. It is bordered in the south by the Mer of Oman and the Rann de Kutch.
Sind is the third province in the order of the surfaces. It measures 579 km of north in the south and 442 km (in its greater width) or 281 km (on average) of are in west, with a surface of 140915 km ². Its population rose to 28 million inhabitants in 1994, half residing in the cities. Its capital is Karachi, main city of Pakistan and old capital national to the foundation of Islamabad, the other important cities being Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Tando Adam, Tando Allahyar, Nawabshah, Larkana, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Badin.

The low valley of the Indus runs in Sind bordered in the east, in India, by the Désert of Thar.
The principal cultures are the Coton, the Riz, the Blé and the Canne with sugar, most important being that of rice. One cultivates there also the Banane and the mango.
It was then controlled by a dynasty Hindou E of which we know several râjas and whose last, Dâhar - or Dâhir - is assassinated by Muhammad ibn-Qâsim. After the conquest of the area by Muhammad ibn-Qâsim in 711 - 712, the Islam became the religion of the leaders. The area will belong to the Sultans of Delhi, then after one period of independence, will be conquered by Akbar.
In 1842 - 1843, the British forces led by the general Charles Napier seized some. The first Aga Khan which helped the British in this conquest for of was rewarded by a pension.
The province integrates Pakistan in 1947.
