In the Greek Mythology, Télesphore (in Greek old Τελεσφορος / Telesphoros ) is the third wire of Asclépios, the god of the medicine.

Myth

Vêtu of a pélerine with cap, dress those which concern the disease, Télesphore is a divinity associated with the Convalescence. It restores the man power and returns strength and the endurance to them that the disease or the wounds removed to them. It is often represented in company of his father and his sister Hygie.

Worship

The worship of Télesphore probably appeared with the {{Ier}} century a. J. - C. with Pergame as an element of the worship of Asclépios. Its popularity increased, at the 2nd century, after Épidaure (seat of the worship of Asclépios) and other cities had adopted its worship. One finds representations of Télesphore mainly in Anatolia, Thrace and in the area of the the Danube.
