The simplicity is the property, the condition or quality to be simple and not-compound. It often indicates the Beauté, purity or clearness. The simple things are by definition often easier to explain and understand why the complicated things, the Complexité being the opposite of simplicity. Simplicity means also the fact of being released of the efforts and confusion, although to arrive at simplicity since complexity can generate these problems. Simplicity can also refer to the voluntary Simplicité.
According to the Razor of Occam, all the other things being equal, the simplest theory is most surely true, from where importance of the concept of simplicity in epistemology. According to Thomas d' Aquin, God is divine Simplicité.
The members of the religious Société of the Friends (Quakers) practice the Témoignage of simplicity, which is the simplification of the life of an individual with an aim of concentrating on the most important things and of avoiding or of giving up the least important things.
In theory of cognition, simplicity is the property of a field which requires very little information to be correctly described.
Simplicity is sometimes used like Synonyme or Euphémisme (simple, simplistic) of Stupidité.
Simplicity is a méta-scientist criterion which evaluates concurrent theories (see the Rasoir of Occam and the references). The similar concept of Parcimonie is also used, it is the explanation which a phenomenon which is observed the least can have an importance higher than a phenomenon more observed.
Some languages built used simplicity like drank creation. For example, the Toki pona with only 118 words.
