Simplex

This article relates to a mathematical concept. In the field of the communications, the term Simplex corresponds to a channel of communication which transports information in only one direction. See Duplex.
In Geometry, a simplex or N - simplex is the analog with N - dimensions of the triangle. More exactly, a simplex is the convex envelope of a whole of ( N + 1) points forming a reference mark closely connected in a Euclidean Espace of dimension N .

A regular simplex is a simplex which is also a regular Polytope.

One also speaks about simplex to indicate an algorithm allowing to solve the problems of linear programming. This algorithm was proposed by Dantzig. (see Algorithm of the simplex)
