Simone Porzio

Simone Porzio (1496 with Naples1554 with Naples) was a Philosophe and Humaniste Italy N of the 16th century.

Biography

Simone Porzio, whose name is sometimes spelled Portio or Portius was born with Naples in the last years from the 15th century. He studied the Philosophie with the Université of Bologna near Achillini and of Pietro Pomponazzi, then philosophy and the Médecine with Pisa at Nifo. He taught the Logique and the natural Philosophie in Pisa (1520 - 25), then philosophy with Naples (1529 - 45), before returning finally to Pisa, where he still taught the philosophy of 1547 until his death in 1554. Its treaty De lies humana is one of the most important works of the Anthropologie during the 16th century. Its interpretation of the Of Animated Aristote is materialist: it rejects the immortality of the heart, and affirms that the heart of the men is not more separate nor separable body that of the animals or plants.

It also left handwritten comments with the Métaphysique , the Of partibus animalium and to the Physique of Aristote like on different other topics from natural philosophy.
