Simon de Tournai
Simon de Tournai (born about 1130 with Turned and deceased in 1201) is a Chanoine which falls under the movement of the intellectual Renaissance of the 12th century.
He studies in his birthplace before going to Paris, at the school of the Cloître of Notre-Dame where he studies in particular under the direction of Odon de Soisson of which he is the collaborator and protected.
He teaches at the school of arts (seven liberal arts) before becoming an eminent Master in Théologie in 1165. Several authors and historians (whose Thomas de Cantimpré and Matthew Paris at the 13th century) allot the paternity of the to him Traité of three impostors .
The paternity of this book would make of him a canon apostate and atheist.
