Simon Myroblite
Saint Simon Myroblite lived at the 13th century. He is the founder of the monastery of Simonos Petra to the Mont Athos. Festival the December 28th.
Recluse in a cave not far from the current monastery, holy Simon saw one night of December a star. This star was placed at the top of the vertiginous rock located opposite its hermitage. Considering first of all that it was victim of an illusion, the saint did not pay attention to the phenomenon. But when the star reappeared every night until Christmas and shone this night similar to that which the magi followed, holy Simon considered finally that it had received a sign of the sky. He then undertook, on this rock, the construction of a monastery which was to be called the News Bethlehem and which he dedicated to the Nativity of Christ.
