Simon Loueckhote

Simon Loueckhote was born the May 7th 1957. Teacher, it is a Senator UMP of the New Caledonia. He is also member of the Congrès of New Caledonia, adviser of the Parliament of the province of the Îles Honesty. Kanak anti-freedom fighter, it is a former member of the RPCR of which it was the chief candidate in the Îles Honesty at the time of all the provincial elections since 1989, he was also the president of the Congrès, the assembly deliberating on the territory, in the name of this party of 1989 with 1995 and of 1998 with 2004. Faithful of the former leader of this party and former deputy Jacques Lafleur, it followed this last in its dissidence of RPCR by assuming the chairmanship of the new whole Rassemblement for Calédonie (RPC). At the time of the debates on the cold electorate (bearing on a constitutional private bill, finally adopted at the end of February 2007, envisaging to limit the electorate for the provincial elections to only the people being able to justify at one duration of residence going up with 1998 at least on the Territory), it has, following the example deputies Jacques Lafleur and Pierre Frogier, strongly militated against the vote of this revision of the constitution. This one done, it then resigned of the UMP.
