Simon Fraser (1776-1862) was a merchant of furs and exploring Canadian.

In 1808, it explored the river Fraser to its mouth for the Compagnie of the North-West. The river bears its name today.

Moreover, one university founded in 1965 and located at Burnaby in the suburbs Is of Vancouver in Canada, bears its name, it acts of the University Simon Fraser (in English, Simon Fraser University (SFU)).
