Ascent
The family of Simon Debré is not originating in Westhoffen. The oldest documents lead to Moïse Michel, of Ichenhausen in Palatinat, which is known as originating in Horburg in Bavaria, and is even once called Horburger. His/her oldest son Michel Moyses fixed himself at Lauterbourg and married Judel Meyer (later Ottile Mog) of Haguenau), while the junior Anschel Moïse, after having passed to Lauterbourg with Saharrachbergheim, in Traenheim where he married Beylé Seligmann (become Babette Schwartz), settled in Westhoffen.
In 1808 the two brothers chose simultaneously the name of Déprés which will be fixed in the form of Debré, and does not appear to be carried by other Jews only they and their descendants. They have both taken up the duties of cantor. The cantors and the schoolmasters moved much and even at the 18th century were not regarded as not domiciled in a given locality (32). Displacements of Anselme Debré (Anschel Braces) announced higher of it are well the proof. As curiosity one will note that with the census of 1848 the brothers Jacques and Simon Dépré are both registered voters as brokers as conscripts.
Simon Debré is the son of Jacques (Anselme) Debré (Déprés) born in Traenheim in 1800 (called " Jacob Loew Ausebel" until 1808) and of Blandine Kahn, born in Westhoffen in 1817. He is the small son of Anselme Debré (Anschel Moïse).
