Simon, brother of Jesus

See also: Simon

Simon is one of the brothers of Jesus quoted in the Gospel of Marc (Mc 6,3) and of Matthieu (MT 13,55), as well as Jacques, Joset and Jude.

He is often identified with Siméon Ier of Jerusalem (first cousin of Jesus de Nazareth since wire of Clopas, this last itself brother of Joseph, the father of Jesus) who took the succession of Jacques, the brother of the Lord, with the head of the Église of Jerusalem (Eusèbe de Césarée, Hist. éccl. 3,11,32).
