Simo

Simo is a municipality the North-West of the Finland, in Finnish Lapland. The village center is located at 25 km of Kemi on the road of Oulu (national 4, E75). Located in the south of Lapland, bordered by the Gulf of Bothnia, the commune remained largely rural in spite of the development of some small industries. The relief is marked little, the forests and marshy zones constitute the essence of the territory. The Simojoki is the only river of importance รก to join the sea between the Kemijoki and the Iijoki. Simo is bordered by the municipalities of Kemi and Keminmaa in the west, Tervola in north, Ranua in the west and Kuivaniemi in the south (and in Ostrobotnie of North).

Unemployment rate is in the average of the province, around 17%, and the population decreases by approximately 30 inhabitants per annum.
