Simca racing TEAM

The Simca Racing TEAM (SRT) was born in 1972 so that the young people can reach the automobile competition with less expenses, by the will of Henri Chemin which with the load of the service competition, and William Reiber with the head of the directory of Simca-Chrysler. The SRT made following the Simca-Shell challenge which makes run of the prototypes. Guy Fréquelin, Bernard Beghin, Michel Pignard and other great names is pointed out in circuit and hill climb. These cuts and challenges are the continuity of the time of the Simca 1000 Abarth (1962 with 1964). Creation of the service competition by William Reiber and Henri Way in 1969, with the participation of the Simca half-compartment 1200 S and its official pilot Bernard Fiorentino, who will pass then on the famous CG Proto, then in Sport-Prototypes on Matra Simca (MS670). The regional SRT gather the members. The principal SRT are: Dijon, Lille, Toulon, Villemomble, Pau, Vierzon, Cormeille, Morsang, Corbeil, Chambourcy, Frémicourt, Nimes, Albi, Holy Villeneuve Georges, Strasbourg, Lyon, Bastia, La Rochelle, and of many other cities. The members are divided into TEAM 1 and TEAM 2, is simple member until that which takes part in the competitions. Incredible thing, the SRT counted several thousands of members. Jacques Ménard was the national president until in 1978 and Olivier Quesnel of 1979 at the end of the SRT in 1981.
