SimCity Societies
SimCity Societies is a project of Video game of the Sim series developed by Tilted Mill Entertainment.
Since 2003 and the exit of the addiciel Rush Hour for SimCity 4, of many rumors envisaged the exit of possible SimCity, obvious result of the Sim series. The June 4th 2007 was revealed the cover of the number of July 2007 of the magazine Anglophone Games for Windows titrated " SimCity Reborn! " (SimCity reappears).
The June 6th 2007, GFW magazine reveals the name of project of the future opus: " SimCity Societies" whose development in hand was confirmed the day before by Electronic Arts.
The French exit is envisaged on November 15th, 2007.
Orientation
With the difference in the precedents SimCity which were centered primarily on the technical management of the city, SimCity Societies, concentrates on the type of company/civilization and incidentally of city which the player wants to set up. The management of the Transport, from the Water, the electricity or the local by-laws, disappear. With the place, Sims of your city will have to be able to find Emplois, Logement S and Loisirs in a delimited perimeter.
Graphic evolution
Visually Simcity Societies changes scale and makes think first of all of City Life. However, unlike this plays, the cities can be directed towards a particular set of themes and can give up the eternal esthetics of the American Villes; even if these last remain realizable.In the presentation of the official site cities of the type are evoked: Cyberpunk, Countryside, Totalitarian, ecological (Arcologie and house in the trees), of leisure, European, Medieval/Fantastic and Capitalist. The player will have fun without doubts to test a scientist mixes of all, with the liking constraints of the Gameplay.
Structure of Gameplay
The buildings do not develop according to preset zones and of the Indice RCI as in the precedents opus but are directly established by the player according to six social energies related with choices of company.Prosperity, Productivity, Spirituality, Knowledge, Authority, Créativité determines the evolution of the city and has a visual incidence as for the graphic environment. During the plays, a great number of buildings will be released and made it possible to affirm increasingly marked urban typologies: only 15% of the total of the buildings contained in the play being available to the beginning of the part…

Controversies
The total reception reserved by the fans of the series SimCity with the advertisement of the play and information which followed was overall very negative. First of all, many players deplore the fact that the Développement of the play was not entrusted to Maxis, the studio of development at the origin of all the Simcity but to Tilted Mill Entertainment.He lengthily was also criticized the new social orientation of the play to the detriment of urban management in itself. In the same way, the first images of the play were décriées for the coarse and childish aspect graphics of SimCity Societies. This centring towards a management of “companies” rather than a management of the urbanization, as in the preceding opus, leads several fans of the series to rather see in this play a continuation of the series of the “Sims” than a real continuation with SimCity 4.
The play does not function on certain largely distributed graphics cards.
