Sim\' hat Torah
Sim' Hat Torah (in Hebrew שמחתתורה), literally “the rejoicing of the Torah” or “joy of the Torah”, is a festival commemorated during the Jewish month of Tichri (October). This festival, unknown factor for the talmudic period , is celebrated the shortly after Chemini Atseret in the Diaspora is the ninth feastday of Souccot, and is celebrated in a way confused with Chemini Atseret nowadays in Israel.
During the gaonic time , Sim' hat Torah becomes a festival with whole share about the 10th century, thus stressing the importance taken by the reading of the Torah in one year which overhangs the triennial cycle.
Rites
The day before at the evening of Simhat Torah, one leaves the rollers the Torah of the holy cupboard, and a merry procession of songs and dances walk them in the Synagog.The morning, with the synagog, one connects the reading of the end of the Deutéronome (fifth book of the Torah) with that of the beginning of the Genèse (first book of the Torah).
