A silane is a chemical compound of formula If _n H _2n+2. It belongs to the family of the Hydrure S made up of Silicium and of Hydrogène, which can be seen like the analog of the Alcane S. It is a colorless gas with the room temperature. With the differences of alkanes, silanes are strong reducers which burn in the air, explode in the dichlore and are hydrolized quickly according to:

SiH₄ + 2 Cl₂ $\backslash \; longrightarrow$ SiCl₄ + 2:00 ₂
