The sihanaka are established mainly in the area of the Lac Alaotra with Madagascar. The territorial limits are not precisely defined, however one can delimit like northern border the settlement of the Antambahoaka, in the east the Betsimisaraka, the south the bezanozano and the west the Merina.

Cities

The principal city is Ambatondrazaka. The other towns of historical importance are Imerimandroso, Tanambe, Ambohijanahary and Amparafaravola. Andriamena cut an economic importance by the exploitation of its Chromite.

Economy

The area of the lake Alaotra is one of the attics of the large island. The sihanaka are oilseeds but rice farmers also: Groundnut S.
