Sigismond Ier Báthory
Sigismond Ier Báthory voïvode then prince of Transylvania of 1581 with 1594, of 1594 with 1598 then of 1598 with 1599 and finally of 1601 with 1602
Wire of Christophe Báthory and Elisabeth Bocskai, born with Oradea in 1575. It succeeds his father like Voïvode of Transylvania in 1581. He becomes prince after the disappearance of his uncle the king Etienne Bathory.
This quarrelsome but odd prince, is successively combined with the Turkish S and the Austria. He left and took again several times the crown:

in July 1594 in favor of his/her cousin Boldizsár Báthory named voïvode but which is dislocated the August 8th 1594, then assassinated.

the March 23rd 1598 in favor of the emperor Rodolphe II but it takes again possession of its principality as of the next on August 22nd.

the March 21st 1599 in favor of the brother of Boldizsar, the Andre Cardinal Báthory killed the November 3rd 1599.
It finds Transylvania the April 3rd 1601 but it definitively yielded it to the emperor Rodolphe the June 29th 1602 and was withdrawn with Prague, where it died in the darkness the March 27th 1613.
He had married the August 6th 1595 Marie Christine de Habsbourg which exerted with various recovery the regency of its state but which he divorced in 1599.
