Siersthal
Siersthal (in German Siersthal then Sierstal ) is a common French, located in the department of the the Moselle and the area Lorraine. The Village belongs to the Regional natural park of the Vosges of North and of the basin of life of the Moselle-is.
Geography
Following one another along the Schwalb, the Village of Siersthal and its variations Frohmühl and Holbach are located in country covered, in the zone where the Forêt is largely perforated by the essartages.
The confluence of the Schwalb Bach and the Schwangerbach supported the establishment of the village, now nested in the middle of the Forêt S which invaded the slopes. As in the village close to Lambach, the landscape knew during the forty last years a deep change, the culture and the meadows having left the place to the leafy trees.
History
Siersthal is mentioned in 1356 in the form Sigersthal , of the Germanic name of man Sigiher and of the substantive Thal , of the German Tal , the Vallée. At the beginning of the 16th century, a Verre laughs is founded with Holbach by the count Jacques of Deux-Ponts - Bitche. Given up in 1585, it is relayed the following year by the Verre laughs at Münzthal, cradle of the glassmaking of Saint-Louis-the-Bitche.
From the spiritual point of view, Siersthal is Paroisse of the archpriest of Hornbach until in 1802 with four branches, then passed in that of Rohrbach-lès-Bitche. From the administrative point of view, the village is common transitory canton of Lemberg of 1790 to 1802 then enters that of Bitche.
It is in Siersthal, very close to the church, that in the years 1770, the Father Dominique Lacombe, friend of the Father Jean-Marie Moÿe, founds a school formation for the religious teaching of the Providence of Saint-Jean-with-Bassel. With two kilometers from there, on the Wasenberg dominating Holbach , the vault Our-Lady-with-Fatima, constitutes nowadays a spiritual high-place of the Bitscherland, goal of important a Pèlerinage marial.
