Siemomysl d\' Inowrocław

Siemomysl d' Inowrocław (in Polish Siemomysł Inowrocławski ), from the dynasty of the Piasts, was born between 1245 and 1250, and deceased in 1287. He is the second wire of Casimir Ier de Cujavie and of Constancy, the girl of Henri II the Piles of Silesia.

He was Duc Inowrocław (of 1267 with 1271 and of 1278 with 1287) and duke of Bydgoszcz (of 1267 with 1268 and of 1278 with 1287).

When Casimir Ier de Cujavie dies in 1267, its duchy is divided between its sons. Siemomysl inherits the small area of Inowrocław. Needing allies, it accompanies the king Ottokar II by Bohemia in its Croisade against the pagan Lithuania . It is undoubtedly on this occasion that it also approaches the teutonic Chevaliers and Sambor II, the duke of Tczew, which brings to him very quickly of large troubles in its own duchy with the Noble S which revolt.

What causes this rebellion, it is the arrival with Inowrocław of German coming from the court of Sambor II, become the father-in-law of Siemomysl in 1268, to which one offers important and remunerative stations. The noble ones call Boleslas the Piles with the rescue. Boleslas seizes Bydgoszcz while Siemomysl is reconciled with its subjects.

Boleslas the Piles invades the duchy of Inowrocław and Siemomysl must be exiled. It is only in 1278 that it returns to the capacity following a concluded agreement to Ląd. Boleslas the Piles and Lech II the Black return its duchy against the promise to him which it returns all the Germans of its entourage. The abandonment of the policy proallemande leads Siemomysl to be combined in 1284 with his/her brother Lech II the Black against Teutoniques.

During its reign, Siemomysl granted the urban rights to several localities of its duchy.

Of her marriage with Salome, the girl of Sambor II, it had three wire (Lech d' Inowrocław, Przemysl d' Inowrocław and Casimir III of Gniewkowo) and three girls.
