Siem-Reap or Siem Reap is a city of the Kampuchea, located near the complex archelogic of Angkor. Siem Reap is located at approximately 314 km in the west of the capital Phnom Penh. It is a city under development full because of tourist attraction in full rise which the temples of Angkor represent since the end of the war and the last attacks Khmer Rouge which took place until 1994. Tourism particularly accelerated since the years 2000 dates until which the mines Anti-personnelles represented a real danger in particular with the accesses of temples. Many hotels were built there and others are in construction thanks to the contribution of foreign assets. There remain some buildings of the colonial time there called Chinese compartments. The city is located at the site of a battle which saw to be opposed the armies thaïes and those of the Khmer empire and which saw the victory of these last. Siem Reap means besides “demolished Siamese”. Moreover, it is twinned with the prosperous city of Fontainebleau located at the south of Paris, in Seine-et-Marne. It is also the name of a crowned river tributary of the Tonlé Sap.
